School
Construction/Renovation
Approximately $2 million from our campaign will be used to build a school addition and remodel our current school facility by September 2011 in order to provide space for the growing number of children in our parish. In order to serve increased enrollment, our program will:
- Build additional classrooms to accommodate two homerooms for each grade PK3-8. In addition, we intend to accommodate our three- and four-year-old pre-school and kindergarten classrooms on the ground level of our facility.
- Build a Media Center, combining a Library and Computer Lab to be used by all grades.
- Evaluate design opportunities to include special fine and liberal arts classrooms for all students including Music/Band, Art and World Language.
- In addition to the above, our renovation plans will include existing and new space to provide:
- An additional resource room for our primary students’ reading and/or math curriculum
- A lunchroom to accommodate 100 students
- More storage space for our teachers
- A reception area at the main door
- Functional space for our Administrative Staff
- Conference room for staff meetings and private meetings with parents
- Handicap-accessible upgrades to allow access to all parts of the building
- Provide a new school entrance on Belden Avenue
Infrastructure
Approximately $1 million from our campaign will allow us to do the following necessary infrastructure repairs to the school:
- Tuckpoint the exterior of the middle school building
- Complete the window restoration project in the primary school building
- Replace and update plumbing to provide hot water throughout both buildings
- Provide new, secure doors at the school entrance on Belden Avenue
Church
Infrastructure
Approximately $400,000 from our campaign will be used to:
- Add handicap-accessible bathrooms
- Complete refinishing of the pews
- Repair the deteriorating church towers
- Replace the roof of the daily mass chapel (Sunday cry room)
- Repair plaster and paint areas of the sacristy
Rectory
Infrastructure
Approximately $600,000 from our campaign will be used to:
- Tuckpoint the entire exterior of the building
- Replace the dirt floor area in the basement with a concrete floor and repair existing damaged concrete areas
- Complete the window restoration project
- Replace and update plumbing to provide hot water throughout the building
- Reconfigure the interior to accommodate additional meeting space for the growing number of parish groups and committees
Repayment of Investment
Approximately $1 million from our campaign will be used to repay our loan:
During the summer of 2008, we borrowed $1 million from the Archdiocese to complete necessary projects in the Parish. Our Campaign will allow us to repay this debt and continue on with the major building, renovation, and repair work we are planning.
The projects completed last summer include:
- New bathrooms in the lower Parish Hall
- A new middle school classroom converted from the gym balcony/library
- A new primary school classroom converted from the former computer lab
- A new middle school science lab
- Renovation of the gym stage for use as a music classroom
- Repair and painting of the entire gym and stage
- Purchase of two mobile computer labs
